Marketing Orion Group B7 Source T.V Shows 2/1/13


1.    Storyboard - 22nd December 2012 - Mktg Transformation: Idea Cellular.

This session is about how companies use digital technology and data analytic to serve their customers better. Idea cellular’s Mr. Navnit Narayan (Chief Service Delivery Officer) was invited to share his views and explain how Idea uses data analytics to retain customers, Mr. Narayan says the firstly analytics helps understand usage patterns, Idea has an analytics team that looks after the database, through this technology they get to know their consumer needs and helps to retain them. Secondly they have mined the data to micro segments depending on the customer’s usage. Thirdly, they use analytics to customize offers and improve their service. Lastly, he focuses on the brand team saying that a good service quality builds good brand. He also mentioned the challenges faced: Vast data, skill set to manage and understand the data and optimal technology to be used for such a data.

2.    Storyboard – 29th December 2012 – What 2013 hold for Indian Advertising and Media industry.

Print and television will have the lion’s share of ad power even in 2013, what will change is the television’s accountability as a medium which will rise thanks to the better measurement opportunities that digitization provides. Experiential marketing accounts for just 6-7% of the market spends, in 2013 this will get the biggest push. According to Mayank Pareekh, COO, Maruti India, customer engagement will evolve and what again is required is to make it innovative continuously. Bobby Pawar, COO, JWT, says that brands have to seed experiences and he mentioned one of the go getters to be participative storylines. Social media will also be ahead when it comes to displaying brands and agencies will also be continuously evolving to fit the bill.


3.    Storyboard – 29th December 2012 – A Brand Called Sachin Tendulkar.

This week's storyboard checks on brand Sachin and what 2013 holds for the Indian A&M industry. Not only this but also there is Coca-Cola's next big brand campaign to crest upon.
Cricket lovers were in for quite a surprise last Sunday morning when Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from one-day-international (ODI) cricket. The master blaster, who earns nearly Rs 200 crore from the 17 brands that he endorses at the moment, will continue his test innings - but it is only a matter of time till he hangs up his boots completely.
Coca-Cola India is set to unveil its new brand campaign next week. The spot will debut during the second one day international between India and Pakistan on 3rd January. It’s created by Mccann Erickson, but, as has become the norm, is an adaptation of a global campaign. In this case it’s the 'crazy heroes' campaign that featured during the UEFA Euro 2012 tournament.
The year 2012 was a tough year for the Indian advertising industry. Tightening purses and a cautious outlook even saw GroupM slash its ad-ex forecast from nearly 12 percent to around 6 percent in August. Demand did pick up towards the end of the year and increased Return on investment  pressure.


4.    All About Ads – NDTV Profit – 27th December 2012.

The program started with the spirit of Christmas festive seasons. Anchor Shruti Verma Singh visited malls and had discussed with various customers and business owners. As there is a change in the presentation and positioning of items which has made consumers to buy more this year than previous year. Special international ads were also creative especially for the Christmas.
Later the show was moved towards Hyderabad where India’s Biggest App fest was organized. It is predicted that the app market of India will grow to $27 million. App designers and professionals from all around the world participated for the best app competition. Also experts shared their views about the same.
Later the show was moved to NDTV’s Car and Bike Awards 2013. Awards related to All about Ads i.e. related to advertising & communication are:

5.    Jan. 25 (Bloomberg) –

Takuji Okubo, chief Japan economist at Societe Generale SA in Tokyo, talks about the nation's economy and the yen. Japan’s exports fell for the third consecutive month in December, capping the first annual trade deficit in 31 years, figures underscoring
